Autonomous fuel-free power supply is a trend in energy

Every year in many countries, especially in developed countries with expensive electricity, more and more private households and even businesses are installing solar panels, reducing their dependence on centralized electricity suppliers. However, to maintain the operation of the grid infrastructure, constant maintenance is required, and the costs are distributed among all remaining electricity consumers. When some users switch to autonomous power supply, the remaining ones must cover most of the costs, which leads to an increase in tariffs and, as a result, to a further reduction in the number of customers. However, demand, for example in Europe, despite the installation of solar panels by private consumers and companies for autonomous power supply, increases annually. The European Union actively supports the use of solar energy. But, according to estimates from the Bruegel think tank, from 65 to 100 billion euros per year are needed to update and expand power grids. Without these investments, the stability of energy systems may be at risk.

Weather conditions in Russia are seriously limiting the widespread introduction of wind power and solar panels. It would seem that with large volumes of fossil fuels and relatively low electricity prices, there is no economic sense for Russian consumers to install autonomous power supply when there is a centralized one. However, the increasing demand for electricity has exhausted the reserves of the physical capacity of the power system.

This is precisely why it has become difficult to build new data centers. Transformers cannot handle the load, networks are overloaded, old capacities are outdated, and months of bureaucratic approvals and billions in investments are required to connect new ones. As a result, data centers are forced to “leave” Moscow and St. Petersburg for regions with an excess of cheap energy – the Urals, Siberia, and Altai. Another option is energy autonomy. Options for building their own thermal power plants, gas piston units, mini-hydroelectric power plants, and even low-power nuclear power plants are being considered. In Russia, the data center market is becoming a battlefield for resources: demand is growing rapidly due to the development of artificial intelligence, big data, and sovereign cloud, but there is not enough infrastructure. According to experts, by 2028, the capacity of commercial data centers will triple and amount to 2.3 GW. Russia may face a paradoxical situation: despite the presence of import substitution, its own software and artificial intelligence, there will be restrictions on access to electricity. And this situation is typical not only for new data centers, but also for new enterprises. Information about plans to build new industrial capacities provided with their own energy generation periodically appears in the press. The development strategy should be based on the best world experience in reforming the energy sector.

Now those who are able to solve the problem of creating energy-independent data processing centers, enterprises and autonomous power supply of residential and industrial premises have a unique opportunity. Generation technologies that will develop in the near future will determine the appearance of energy for the next hundred to one hundred and fifty years. Therefore, it is important to focus on the implementation of competitive fuel-free technologies, and the generated capacity should not depend on weather conditions.

Creating something new in electricity generation is a difficult task. Therefore, the emergence of a technology that operates on new physical principles and uses materials with unique properties always attracts the attention of specialists. One of such materials is graphene. Studies have shown that it is capable of generating electric current. Graphene (a single-atom layer of carbon) ranks sixth in the periodic table and has an atomic weight of 12.011. This means that any impact of particles from surrounding fields of invisible radiation will be noticeable. Observation of graphene's behavior through a high-resolution microscope showed its vibration, called "graphene waves." This atypical behavior is a unique property that has only been observed in graphene. This allowed scientists from the Neutrino Energy group of companies to develop a multilayer nanomaterial based on it, which allows us to talk about the industrial implementation of the development. To date, pre-industrial samples of Neutrino Power Cubes graphene fuel-free generators are undergoing resource tests, during which they are being refined. To speed up industrial production, high-speed plasma technology for applying single-atom layers of materials to a metal substrate, which are part of the nanomaterial, is being tested at the same time, and several production facilities are being built in various countries to produce Neutrino Power Cubes generators. Autonomous power supply without burning fossil fuels is the future that will change global competition between countries and will become a symbol of a reasonable and responsible attitude of humanity to our planet.
