The global energy sector is at a turning point: fossil fuels are exhaustible and environmentally harmful, renewable sources are unstable and geographically limited, and the demand for weather- and climate-independent generation is growing every year. These factors create the preconditions for the development of fundamentally new technologies, such as neutrinovoltaics, which can address many of the vulnerabilities of the existing energy system.

The scientific significance of the work is confirmed by the development of a pilot technology for the production of Neutrino Power Cube energy units based on a 12-cycle heterojunction made of nanopiezoelectric materials. Experimental studies of pre-industrial prototypes demonstrate stable generation of 5-6 kW of electric current in the basic mode of operation, 24/7/365.

The study demonstrates a revolutionary approach to electrical energy generation based on multi-channel harvesting of different types of background energy in a 3D graphene/silicon heterostructure.
